Shaping a flat spring

When shaping springs, the wire is shaped in such a way as to achieve the required characteristics. Highly complex machines with specially manufactured tools guide the wire in the required direction over a number of controlled stations.

The actual shape of a spring is created either by rotating the wire with the tools always remaining in the same position or by the tools turning around the wire.
